My work today

Kindle Cover

My work generously gave everyone a Kindle for Christmas this year. Over the
weekend, I made myself a little cover and bought some books so I'm ready
for the travels over the Christmas break.

LA

Erik and I had a whirlwind trip to LA where we stayed in a b&b near Venice beach.
It was nice to get a weekend of sunshine, blue skies and warm sunsets. Apart from
spending quality time in traffic and at a storage unit, we wondered the around the
area and ate at some of Erik's old favourites; the highlight being the orange peel
soy chicken.

Feist

I went and saw Feist play at the Centre for performing arts in Vancouver with my beau and loved it. If you have a chance to see her on this tour, I highly recommend it. It was mainly her new album but I was glad to hear one of my favourites, 'My Moon my Man'.

We also had a treat of hearing her back up singers, Mountain Men, do a sweet piece called "How'm I Doin".

Draw by Night

I went to a great event last week called Draw by Night. Large sheets of paper are rolled out over the tables and everyone comes along and draws. The theme for this party was the winter commuter and the photo below shows my seat and the rugged up moustache man I drew.

Check out more photos from the night here.

A sunny day in Vancouver

A beautiful clear winters day in downtown Vancouver.
A warm peppermint chocolate, a stroll along the water and I'm happy.

Goodbye

And thank you.

I'll be missing you

It's been a while since last wrote and things have changed. It's been a chaotic last few months of packing and goodbyes but we are now in Vancouver. Adelaide will always be dear to me and my friends and family always close. During the last 5 years, I have been extremely fortunate to have some wonderful people enter my life and for that I'm grateful. You all have a place in my heart.

To my little flat, that gave me room to grow and change over the years, I will miss you. You were too hot in summer and too cold in winter, but you kept me safe. So long to the pistachio walls, inconvenient light switches, inconsistent water temperature, cracks, school house windows and lopsided mantle. You will be missed.
